We Are Inseparable book / Bwindi Cards
Indigenous Batwa elder, Geofrey Buchebe explained, “We view…mountain gorillas, animals…as an inseparable inherent part of humans.” This book explores the mountain gorillas and ancient forest ecosystem of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and their relationship with the people living nearby. Originally written as an interactive educational resource for local youth (aka, Bwindi Cards), this field-guide-style book spotlights innovative community conservation efforts that can create win-win-win solutions for residents, the ecosystem, and wildlife. Where could this community conservation model be replicated so that people living next to wildlife habitat can embrace coexistence instead of conflict?
When you buy an eBook, a paperback book, or pdfs of the Bwindi Cards, you help support micro-grants to Bwindi Youth Guardian groups doing STEAM conservation projects in their communities around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The solutionary projects are designed to help solve problems affecting their community and people they care about, as well as the forest and wildlife.
